Caoimhin Kelleher wanted by Wolves and will depart Liverpool

Liverpool and Ireland international goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has opted to depart Liverpool this summer, with Wolves and Burnley amongst the clubs interested in his services. The 25-year-old Cork-born keeper has helped Liverpool in Carabao Cup victories in recent seasons, and has played as an understudy to number 1 Alisson.

  • Jurgen Klopp recently said that the club would not be where it is today if not for the impressive form of Kelleher, but the goalie has admitted he wants regular first-team football and will seek a departure away from Anfield for pastures new.

Kelleher had appeared in 15 games in the Premier League but has failed to oust Alisson from the first-team on a permanent basis, and will be allowed to leave the club.

It is understood that Wolves could sell their number 1 Jose Sa this summer, as clubs such as Barcelona are amongst the teams interested in the Portuguese keeper, clearing the way for Caoimhin to move to Molineux.

Burnley have also been linked with a deal for Kelleher, as current Clarets' keeper James Trafford has been mentioned as part of a swap deal with the Irishman to Liverpool.
