Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is pushing for a move to Barcelona this summer, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claims.
The Spaniard has been with the Blues for the past six years, but he is now keen on pursuing a fresh challenge away from the Premier League.
Barcelona have already been in contact with his representatives, and it is now reported that negotiations are at a 'well advanced' stage.
Alonso will enter the final year of his Blues contract this summer. The final decision over his exit will depend on the west London giants.
Chelsea signed him for £23 million from Fiorentina in 2016, and may want to recoup part of the funds during the next transfer window.
Barcelona are eager to sign the left-back, but they are still reluctant to pay a high fee, considering his contract situation at the Blues.
It remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement. Alonso has made it clear that he would like to return to the Spanish La Liga.
