Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Ronaldo misses out

22 May 2022 - 13:30

Manchester United face Crystal Palace away from home in their final game of the Premier League campaign today.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Red Devils are presently two points ahead of West Ham United in seventh, and may need to win to qualify for the Europa League.

Otherwise, the Hammers stand the chance of leapfrogging them with a victory as they currently have a superior goal difference.

United would end up in the Europa Conference League in this case. The fans will be desperately hoping to avoid the scenario.

    Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has played every minute of the Premier League campaign, and is expected to start between the sticks. The Spaniard is a front-runner for the club's Player of the Year award alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

The backline could witness a solitary change after the 4-0 loss at Brighton. Harry Maguire had a good cameo off the bench where he nearly scored. The club captain could replace Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence.

In midfield, Scott McTominay could make way for Fred after a lacklustre display at Brighton. The Scotland international was completely outclassed, winning just three of his 12 ground and aerial duels contested.

No changes are likely in attack with Jadon Sancho doubtful with a minor injury. However, there will be an enforced change up front with Cristiano Ronaldo having been ruled out with a hip flexor problem.

His absence could pave the way for Marcus Rashford to lead the line. The club graduate has had a poor season with five goals, but has the chance to end the campaign on a high by guiding the club to Europa League football.

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles; Fred, Matic; Elanga, Mata, Fernandes; Rashford.
