Manchester United and Chelsea will need to pay £42m to sign Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile this summer.
The Frenchman was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League two years ago, but ended up staying with Monaco.
He is now much more experienced at the age of 21, and L'Equipe report that Monaco could sell him for the right price.
The Principality outfit are eyeing £42m for him amid interest from United, Chelsea, Sevilla as well as Barcelona.
United have already signed a new centre-back in Lisandro Martinez, and it will come as a surprise if they pursue another.
The same can't be said for Chelsea, however. The Blues are eyeing three new central defenders in the transfer market.
They have already landed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but are looking for two more additions before the deadline.
The Blues have been left frustrated with the failure to land several players, but Badiashile would be a solid acquisition.
He is good with his tackling, interceptions, and can clear his lines. He also has a strong aerial presence with his height (194cm).
