The Blues were determined to sign Kounde last week, but their move was scuppered after Barcelona entered the race.

The Catalan giants are now in advanced negotiations with Sevilla, and Chelsea have decided to end their transfer pursuit.

Skriniar has become the next point of focus for them, but he won\'t come for cheap with Inter Milan eyeing at least £60 million.

The 27-year-old has been a huge success for the Nerazzurri, but he would still need time to adapt to the Premier League.

The Blues may have to act fast if they are indeed interested, considering Paris Saint-Germain are also admirers of him.

Les Parisiens failed with a £42 million bid earlier this month, and the Blues will be hoping to avoid another bidding battle for a player.

They have already missed out on Raphinha and Kounde to Barcelona.
