Cucurella set for Chelsea transfer

Chelsea agree personal terms with Spanish star

02 August 2022 - 20:26

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella over personal terms, Fabrizio Romano claims.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The Blues recently entered the race to sign the Spain international after Manchester City made it clear that they can't afford him.

The Cityzens were eager to Cucurella last month, but their £40 million bid fell short of the Seagulls' valuation of around £50 million.

Chelsea recently opened negotiations with Brighton, and Romano has confirmed that they have agreed terms with the player.

They now need to find a suitable agreement with the Seagulls. Levi Colwill is likely to be used as a makeweight to reduce the price.

Cucurella should be a quality signing for the west London giants as he is strong defensively and offensively from left wing-back.

He can also play on the left side of the back three, and his versatility should be an added boost for manager Thomas Tuchel next term.

His arrival should pave the way for Marcos Alonso's move to Barcelona.
