Sunderland consider Zarate

01 May 2008 - 23:13

Sunderland are believed to be considering a move for Birmingham's on loan striker, Mauro Zarate, after it emerged that the Blues are unlikely to be able to afford the price tag on the Argentinian's head.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Al Sadd, the club who owns Zarate's player rights, are demanding 18 million GBP in order to let the player leave.

Birmingham are only prepared to pay £9 million; and this fee will only be paid if Premiership sruvival is secured.

It is believed Zarate has also attracted the interest of Valencia and Villarreal in Spain.
