Chelsea are pushing hard to secure the services of Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Sport.
Barcelona boss Xavi recently said that he is counting on Aubameyang for the season, but he could yet leave the club.
The striker joined on a big pay-cut last January, but his salary will see an exponential rise in the current campaign.
With the club's financial concerns, it is claimed that they would consider a good offer from Chelsea for his signature.
Aubameyang would be a solid addition to the Blues ranks with his vast Premier League experience with the Gunners.
He bagged nearly 100 goals during his four year spell with the north London club, but left them in a controversial fashion.
Aubameyang may want the chance to redeem himself and Chelsea would offer him the right platform to do so this term.
The Gabon star should be tempted to join them instead of staying at Barcelona to play second fiddle to Robert Lewandowski.
Aubameyang bagged 20 goals for Arsenal and Barcelona combined last term.
