Moyes will give Carsley deal

Moyes will give Carsley deal

04 May 2008 - 09:02

Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that he expects Lee Carsley will receive a new contract at the club, but will not discuss this with him until the end of the season.

  • Chelsea to accept less than £40m for attacker?
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Joao Pedro starts

  • "Cars has done a very good job again for us this season," the Everton manager told the Liverpool Post. "The role he does is so important and he had a big job in trying to stifle John Carew on Sunday.

"He is a great professional and certain games suit him better than others.

"We aren't talking about his contract until the end of the season.

"But he has been very reliable for us and we don't want to lose that. I want to keep that strong backbone at the club."
