Manchester United will attempt to sign Arsenal target Youri Tielemans when the transfer window reopens.
The Belgium international was widely expected to leave the Foxes this summer, but a transfer never materialised.
He had apparently agreed personal terms with the Gunners, but they were put off by the Foxes' hefty £40 million demands.
With less than a year left on his contract, the Gunners refused to pay the asking price and the stance was similar with other clubs.
However, the situation could change at the turn of the year. The Foxes may accept a knockdown fee rather than losing him for nothing.
Arsenal are expected to return for his services, but Fichajes claim that United could offer stiff competition for the Belgian star.
The Red Devils are eyeing another creative central midfielder, and Tielemans would be a quality asset to add to the squad.
Erik ten Hag is very likely to be backed by the hierarchy this winter. The club are expected to make at least two signings in January.
