Manchester United are considered front-runners to sign Cody Gakpo ahead of Arsenal during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils were in regular contact with the player's representatives over the summer but they ended up signing Antony from Ajax.
Gakpo has since confirmed that he was in contact with manager Erik ten Hag, and Football Transfers claim that United could make a fresh move.
Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Netherlands international, but it is claimed that United continue to hold the advantage in the pursuit.
Gakpo has been in stupendous form for PSV in the current campaign. He has managed 27 goal contributions from just 21 appearances for the club.
His form has seen him linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich too, but Gakpo is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford this winter.
PSV are expected to demand around €60 million for the Dutchman, who has predominantly played from the left wing position since last season.
