Barcelona have identified Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets at the end of the season.
Kante has been a key player for the Blues over the past six years, but there are doubts over his future beyond the current campaign.
The Frenchman has suffered plenty of injuries over the past 18 months and the Blues are unwilling to extend his deal beyond June 2023.
Despite this, Kante remains on demand outside of the Premier League and Sport claim that Barcelona are keen on landing his services.
Busquets has been struggling for form and consistency this season and there are suggestions that he could be released next summer.
Instead of pursuing a young midfielder, the Blaugrana want an experienced head and believe Kante would be an ideal acquisition.
The Catalan giants can open negotiations with Kante at the turn of the year, but they won't be alone with Paris Saint-Germain also keen.
Kante is currently sidelined for four months after a hamstring surgery.
