Chelsea are considered front-runners to sign Cristiano Ronaldo following his release from Manchester United today.
The Portuguese was sacked by the Red Devils due to his disrespectful comments towards Erik ten Hag and the Glazers last week.
He is now said to be eyeing another European club, and The Mirror claim that Chelsea are in pole position to land him.
Owner Todd Boehly wanted to secure his services in the summer, but manager Thomas Tuchel blocked the potential move.
Tuchel is no longer at the helm at Chelsea and the Blues could now make a fresh proposal to sign the 37-year-old star.
It will be interesting to see what Graham Potter decides to do. He will be asked for an opinion ahead of an approach.
Aside from the Blues, Serie A leaders Napoli could make an offer as they look to further boost their title prospects.
With his good experience in Italian football, Ronaldo could be an ideal addition for the Naples outfit this winter.
