Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly determined to sign Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio in January.
The Spaniard was regularly linked with the Gunners during the summer transfer window, but a deal did not materialise.
However, the club plan to return for him this winter, considering he could be available for a knockdown transfer fee.
Asensio is set to enter the final six months of his contract, and it is claimed that Los Blancos could sell him for just €20m.
The 26-year-old would be a superb signing for the north London giants as he can play on either wing or in attacking midfield.
Aside from the Gunners, Liverpool have also been linked with Asensio in the past, but they are prioritising a midfielder for January.
Arsenal seem in the driving seat to land the former Mallorca man, who is said to be frustrated with the lack of minutes at Madrid.
Asensio has played only 420 minutes of club football this season.
