Chelsea manager Potter hints at more signings

12 January 2023 - 06:20

Having agreed a deal to sign Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid until the end of the current campaign, Chelsea manager Graham Potter insisted that his work in the transfer market is not yet complete. The under fire coach is also in the race to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, but also is looking to bring in a defensive midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has so far backed the club to spend big since taking over from Roman Abramovich, and it is reported that the club have a budget of close to £100 million to spend on new faces.

When asked about the Joao Felix deal, Potter responded: "He’s a quality player that gives everyone a lift. His quality is in terms of playing as a second striker, playing between the lines, making things happen in the final third."

When questioned on any further transfer dealing, Potter quipped: "There’s time. Whether we’ll find the right players or not is another thing. You have to look in this window to make the right decisions, but it’s complicated. We’re happy with what we’ve done so far."
