Barca supremo Joan Laporta has today outlined the process in the sacking of Frank Rijkaard and appointment of Pep Guardiola, claiming that he told the Dutchman personally.
Laporta announced yesterday that the current Barcelona coach would be making way for Josep Guardiola and today the President explained his choice.
"I told him personally and explained to him why we were ending our relationship. He will be with us until the 30th of June or when we consider that the season is over.
"He did great work, led the project of a team that won the Champions League, two Ligas and a pair of Supercopas. I know that this does not cover the bad results. Frank made history. With time we will analyze the errors that we committed."
"We're going with Josep Guardiola, as we know that he will continue with the football line that has brought the club great success. He has confidence, the knowledge of the club and the resources to build a new project for the senior team."
