Madrid agree to sign Ballack?

10 September 2007 - 12:23

Reports emanating from Spain suggest that Real Madrid have agreed to sign Chelsea's German midfielder Michael Ballack. The player has been unhappy following being left out of Chelsea's 23-man Champions League qualifying squad.

  • Although the player was left out of the squad through injury, it hasn't stopped various media channels picking up on a potential transfer. According to some, Ballack will be paid £135,000 a week at the Galacticos.

The 30-year-old was linked with a move to Real just before the transfer window closed at the end of August, with Bernd Schuster confirming earlier this week that a deal had been close.

However, the Guardian reports Jose Mourinho will offer Ballack a final chance to resurrect his Chelsea career if the midfielder responds well to being left out of the club’s Euro squad.
