Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been linked with a surprise move to Newcastle United this summer.
The England international has only 16 months left in his Blues contract and he has yet to agree to a new extension.
The Blues have been in regular talks with him but Mount still has concerns over image rights and contract length.
If there is no breakthrough by the summer, he will be sold and The Telegraph claim that Newcastle are interested.
The Magpies are planning for the long-term and they are aiming to sign young players over experienced big-name stars.
Mount has now emerged as an option for the club and it remains to be seen whether they can sign him ahead of their rivals.
Liverpool are widely considered as favourites to land the Blues graduate, having already spoken with his representatives.
Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the midfielder's versatility and is said to be keen on luring him to Anfield this summer.
