Bristol City leave it late

Bristol City leave it late

Bristol City left it late to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 at a packed Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon to give City the advantage going into the second leg in Bristol.

  • Louis Carey had given City the lead with his first goal of the season following a cleverly-taken free-kick by the visitors.

Palace looked as though they had done enough to secure a barely-deserved draw after Ben Watson equalised Louis Carey's opening goal with a well-taken penalty with four minutes remaining; which Carey had given away himself in the 87th minute.

However, David Noble scored a spectular goal late on at Selhurst Park to give Bristol City the advantage late on and to wrap up the victory and give City their first chance of a season in the Premiership in their history.
