Evra: Scotland have no hope

Evra: Scotland have no hope

10 September 2007 - 12:58

Man Utd's French defender Patrice Evra has announced that he believes Scotland have no chance of beating France in their crunch Euro 2008 qualifier.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Evra said, "Scotland don't have a chance. Only a miracle will see them defeat France. Everyone remembers our loss in Glasgow but we have moved on. As long as we create chances against Scotland we will win.

"We're not out for revenge - we just want to win. If we play at our normal level we should score a lot of goals.

"If we score a quick opener it should be easy. If we don't, Scotland's defence will be hard to break down because they're not kids.

"In seven matches they have only conceded six goals - the same as Italy.

"Hopefully with Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet up front we are guaranteed goals."

Domenech underlined the importance of a victory against Scotland, "The match against Scotland is more important than the one against Italy. A defeat against Scotland would be more serious than if we had lost against Italy."
