Spurs join Makoun hunt

12 May 2008 - 19:42

Tottenham have joined the hunt for Lille midfielder Jean II Makoun. Arsenal are reportedly interested in landing the African, and are preparing a £7 million offer for the player. Now Spurs are prepared to offer a little extra to land Makoun.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Makoun has been in outstanding form for Lille over the past two seasons, and has been a regular for the club for over seven years.

Now Makoun may be tempted to try his luck in the Premiership; and Arsene Wenger is on the look out for a long-term successor to Mathieu Flamini who joined AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are also on the market for another central midfielder and Makoun has emerged as a target.
