Arsenal in good Kompany

Arsenal in good Kompany

Arsenal are rumoured to be looking at Hamburg defender Vincent Kompany, according to sources in Germany.

  • Kompany, a belgian international, joined Hamburg for 8.5 million euros, and now Arsene Wenger is apparently willing to splash out up to 20 million for the centre back.

The talented defender hasn't had it all his own way in the Bundesliga, where he has picked up the nickname Catastrophy Kompany, after a number of awful errors in matches, which have cost his side dearly. His performance this weekend in the 2-0 defeat to Energie Cottbus was described as one of his worst yet. German commentators seem confused as to why there is so much interest in someone who is clearly talented, but also too prone to making mistakes.
