Arsenal are reportedly prepared to go head-to-head with Liverpool in the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Andre in January.
Jurgen Klopp's side were eager to sign the 22-year-old from Fluminense in the last transfer window, but they failed to receive the green light.
The Brazilian outfit did not want to lose his services midway through their campaign and asked the Reds to return in 2024.
The club are already in advanced talks over a winter deal, but reports claim that Arsenal could attempt to beat them in the race.
Gunners sporting director Edu Gaspar was spotted at Fluminense last week and may have discussed a potential deal for Andre.
Edu has good relations with several clubs in his native country and he was instrumental in bringing Gabriel Martinelli to Arsenal.
He could use his close association to hijack Liverpool's move for Andre. The midfielder could be signed for around €30 million.
Andre has yet to start for Brazil at the senior level, but he has made two substitute appearances - one of those came last week.
