Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly in talks with Real Betis over a free transfer.
The Spaniard ended his 12-year association with the Red Devils following the expiry of his contract last summer.
He has since been a free-agent without choosing his next club, but he is not far away from picking one, as per El Desmarque.
De Gea has already spoken with the representatives of Betis and he is contemplating joining them on a short-term deal.
The Spaniard is impressed by the progress made by Manuel Pellegrini's side, who are currently seventh in the league table.
De Gea was earning a staggering £375,000-a-week at United and he is likely to accept an astronomical pay-cut to join Betis.
He has received big money offers from clubs in Saudi and Qatar, but the shot-stopper prefers to continue his career in Europe.
Betis seem his likely destination, provided there are no differences over playing time. De Gea will want an assured starting role.
