Aston Villa have won the race to sign Red Star Belgrade's talented right-back Kosta Nedeljković on a deal worth around 9 million euros; as the Serbia under-19 international looks set to agree a five-year deal at Villa Park and become the Villan's first transfer of the January transfer window. According to sources, Unai Emery the Aston Villa manager has personally audited the progress of Nedeljkovic and has pushed the club to sign the defender during the January transfer window as interest from elsewhere appears to have emerged at the last minute.
Nedeljković first made his debut for Red Star in 2023, going ton to appear 12 times before making a short loan spell to Graficar for six months. He was an almost ever present there, before returning to Red Star. It appears that Villa want to move quickly to tie down the youngster before other clubs move, with Juventus and Tottenham both rumoured to have shown interest in the 2005-born defender.
Villa already have Matty Cash and Lucas Digne available to play as a right-sided defender, but recent injuries to Digne and other defenders means that a signing could be thrust into the first-team immediately.
