Arsenal have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Chelsea target Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer.
The Nigerian star has confirmed that he will be pursuing a new challenge after the end of the current season at Napoli.
He has been touted to move to the Premier League and TV Play claim that the Gunners have taken initial steps to sign him.
Chelsea have identified the striker as their prime target, but it appears Arsenal will go head-to-head with them for his services.
A deal won't be easy to pull off as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis won't be offering any discount on the price tag.
Osimhen recently signed a new contract with a €130 million release clause and he won't be sold for anything less this summer.
De Laurentiis is expected to demand the entire transfer fee up front and won't accept staggered payments from any clubs.
This could complicate things for both Arsenal and Chelsea, who may need player sales to stay within the Financial Fair Play limits.
