Manchester United and West Ham United are set to compete for the signature of Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana this summer.
The Frenchman was on the radar of Nottingham Forest and Fulham last summer, but he rejected them to stay with Monaco.
However, he is expected to pursue a new challenge this time around and Monaco are prepared to listen to offers of £26 million.
AC Milan have held a long-term interest too, but Calciomercato claim that United and West Ham have the upper hand in the race.
Fofana has a dream of playing in the Premier League and he would accept proposals from the likes of United and West Ham.
United are currently eyeing a replacement for Casemiro, who has been touted to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.
Meanwhile, the Hammers are still looking for another defensive midfielder with Kalvin Phillips underperforming on loan.
The Red Devils could have an advantage over the Hammers, particularly if they qualify for the Champions League next term.
