Portsmouth want Armand Traore

18 May 2008 - 11:06

Portsmouth have reportedly placed Arsenal left sided player Armand Traore at the top of their summer transfer wanted list. Traore is considered one of the best young talents in Arsene Wenger's squad, and the French coach is keen for him to leave to garner top flight experience.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Bournemouth star
  • Atletico Madrid planning shock move for Chelsea star
  • At Arsenal, Traore has been more of a bit-part player, only appearing in Carling Cup and early stages of the FA Cup.

Now Arsene Wenger is tempted to let Traore leave on loan for a season or six months, and Portsmouth have emerged as candidates to land the player.

Several Championship clubs including Reading are also reportedly interested in Traore.

Arsenal are likely to be reluctant to allow Traore to leave permanently.
