Man Utd lining up free transfer for Frenchman?

Rabiot back on United's radar

Man Utd lining up free transfer for Frenchman?

22 April 2024 - 20:40

Manchester United could make a surprise move to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer this summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • The Frenchman was a top target for manager Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2022, but a deal failed to materialise in the end.

The club agreed a fee worth 20 million euros with the Bianconeri for a transfer and Ten Hag personally spoke with Rabiot.

However, the move broke down at the final hurdle due to a disagreement over the salary package. Rabiot wanted €10m per year.

United have continued to be linked with his services and reports claim that the club could swoop for his signature in a Bosman deal.

Rabiot's current contract with the Bianconeri expires in the summer and as things stand, there are no talks over a possible renewal.

This is likely to pave the way for his departure. Both United and Newcastle are said to be lining up proposals for the Frenchman.
