Manchester United could make a surprise move to sign Marc Cucurella or Ben Chilwell from Chelsea this summer.
The Red Devils have struggled in the left-back department this term with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia being sidelined with injuries.
Malacia has spent the entire campaign on the sidelines with a serious knee problem but he could return before pre-season.
Meanwhile, Shaw has been in-and-out of the manager's plans. He is currently doubtful to return before the FA Cup final on May 25.
With the unreliability of the duo, the Red Devils are expected to land a new left-back and they could sign one from their rivals.
Cucurella was a loan target for United last summer, but United eventually signed Sergio Reguilon on a temporary deal until January.
Simon Phillips claims that the Red Devils could make a renewed approach for the defender when the transfer window reopens.
Chilwell is also on the radar of Erik ten Hag's side, but the interest is not concrete, considering his injury concerns this term.
