Arsenal are prepared to pay the €58 million release clause in the contract of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, according to Caught Offside.
The Spaniard had a superb 2023/24 campaign with the Basque outfit. He scored eight goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions.
He is currently happy with the proceedings, but this has not stopped the speculation linking him with a move away from the La Liga side.
It is now reported that Chelsea and Arsenal are in the mix for his services and the Gunners are prepared to pay his release clause worth €58m.
However, the final decision will rest on the 21-year-old, who will speak with interested clubs following his return from the European Championship.
Williams may want an assured starting role at his next club. That may not be a guarantee at Arsenal due to the presence of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Saka is an undisputed starter on the right wing while Trossard and Martinelli are currently competing for places on the left wing.
