Arsenal could revive their interest in signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres in the near future, according to Correio da Manha.
The Sweden international had a sensational 2023/24 campaign with Sporting, scoring 43 goals and providing 15 assists from 50 outings.
Shortly after the end of the season, the striker underwent a minor knee surgery, but he has now returned to action for Sporting.
Gyokeres played in the friendly against Farense earlier today and he made an instant impact, scoring another impressive hat-trick.
He will now face Atletico Bilbao in another friendly on Saturday and Arsenal will be closely monitoring him during that encounter.
Should Gyokeres go on to impress them, the club could make an approach to land his signature during the ongoing transfer window.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that the Gunners need to upgrade in every department to challenge for the league title.
A marquee striker appears a must for the club. Gyokeres would be an ideal fit with his good distribution, goalscoring skills and creativity.
