Arsenal are very active in the pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Gunners have been fancied to sign a new centre-forward this summer, but they have yet to make any formal approach for anyone.
However, the scenario could change in the coming days.
Arsenal could step up their chase for a new striker after they complete the signing of midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen has been linked over the last few weeks, but it is reported that Arsenal are no longer interested in him.
Instead, they are very active in the pursuit of Gyokeres, who netted a stunning 43 goals for Sporting Lisbon last season.
Gyokeres also registered 15 assists during his debut campaign. Arsenal are likely to make an effort to sign him in the near future.
The Swedish star won't come on the cheap. Sporting are expected to hold out for his €100 million release clause, as per reports.
