Kluivert to leave Lille

Kluivert to leave Lille

21 May 2008 - 22:45

Lille coach Claude Puel confirmed that Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert would be leaving at the end of the season, but praised the forward for his influence on the dressing room and his professionalism.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "If you look at on the pitch matters, he hasn't had as many games as he would have liked and we could have some reservations about that," Puel told French sport daily L'Equipe.

"However, overall I'm very satisfied with what he brought to the group in training and in the dressing room.

"Compared to the player we'd heard about - the ego this kind of player could have - he was always very positive for the group.

"All season he has set an example with his relationships within the club and his behaviour.

"His team-mates have seen that he is a great player and a great professional.

"I'm very satisfied with him. I'll judge him on what he has brought to the club in a global sense."
