Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on midfielder Jorginho following the 5-2 rout of West Ham United in the Premier League.
The Gunners have been exceptional since the international break. They beat Nottingham Forest by a 3-0 scoreline in the league last weekend.
This was followed by a 5-1 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League. They replicated the feat with a 5-2 victory at West Ham earlier today.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said that the substitutions were very much pre-planned and he added that Jorginho was excellent in midfield.
He said: "We knew before the game we were going to make substitutions because of the state of players, but we have to manage that.
"Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko come in, Jorginho was excellent. I am very pleased."
The Gunners have moved to second in the standings with the victory and they are now within six points off Liverpool for the top spot.
Arne Slot's side have a game in hand against Manchester City at Anfield and it won't be an easy challenge despite the latter's poor form.
The reigning champions have lost five and drawn one of the last six games and they will be determined to make amends at Anfield tomorrow.
