Arsenal will have to pay £29 million to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Vitor Reis at the end of the season, according to Mirror.
The Gunners presently have William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes as assured starters in the central defensive department.
However, they are aiming to add more quality and competition in their ranks. Reis has been identified as a top prospect for the future.
The 18-year-old is considered as the next big thing at Palmeiras after Estevao Willian and Arsenal have been in contact with the club.
The Brazilian outfit are in no hurry to sell at the moment and they are prepared to wait until after the Club World Cup next summer.
Aside from the Gunners, Real Madrid are also interested in the teenage centre-back, but they are likewise reluctant to pay the fee.
Both Arsenal and Madrid have offered around £25m for the youngster, but they may need to increase their proposal to land his services.
