Manchester United legend Roy Keane was impressed with the Red Devils following their 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool on the road.
The Mancunian giants went into the encounter on a four-match winless streak and they were predicted to suffer another humiliating defeat.
However, the players came up with a different mindset for the game and they could have won the derby, had Harry Maguire scored at the death.
Speaking after the stalemate, Keane was delighted with the fight shown, but added that they need to replicate the performance going forward.
He said: "I take my hat off to United today. The key is that they've got to back it up."
United have moved to 13th in the table after the hard-fought draw. They will be in FA Cup action against Arsenal on the road next Sunday.
The Red Devils were outclassed by the Gunners in the Premier League last month, but their latest display should give them plenty of confidence.
