The Blues were determined to sign the Nigeria international last summer, but they failed to convince him over a move.

The club made a late loan proposal which was accepted, but Osimhen refused to accept a significant pay-cut to join.

Osimhen ended up signing for Galatasaray on loan, but he is expected to pursue a bigger club over the summer.

Chelsea continue to monitor his situation and they are poised to make a permanent transfer bid this time around.

Osimhen's release clause will drop to £63m from July and the Blues seem prepared to pay the reported transfer figure.

It remains to be seen whether a deal will materialise.

Osimhen is quite clear that he won't accept a salary reduction. Chelsea will have to meet his demands to land his signature.

The 26-year-old has netted 17 goals alongside five assists for Galatasaray.
