Manchester United are ready to compete with Chelsea to sign Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel this summer, according to SportBild.
Kobel has been linked with a move away from the German giants over the past year and he is anticipated to leave during the next transfer window.
Chelsea have already established contact with the player, but the Blues will need to offload multiple goalkeepers before they can convince him to join.
United are also in the hunt for the Swiss star but reports claim that the Red Devils can't afford him unless they part ways with Andre Onana this summer.
Onana has been guilty of making several high-profile errors in goal since his arrival from Inter Milan. He has received criticism from some fans.
Despite this, he has no plans of heading for the exit door and this could hamper United's prospects of signing a marquee goalkeeper this year.
Dortmund want at least £51m to part ways with Kobel this summer.
