Arsenal could miss out on signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia during the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
The Gunners were determined to land the Spanish shot-stopper last summer, but they could not get a deal over the line with Espanyol.
The club are set to return for his services this summer, but reports claim that there is uncertainty whether the player will join them.
Arsenal were odds-on favourites to land the 25-year-old last year, but the scenario has changed with the increasing interest in him.
Mikel Arteta's side consider Garcia as a back-up to compatriot David Raya and he is unlikely to become the number one for the next few years.
This could prove a stumbling block. Garcia could be tempted to join another elite European club with playing time guarantees.
Aston Villa could be one of those. Villa have identified Garcia as a top target to replace Emiliano Martinez, who is poised to leave.
