Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that Enzo Fernandez remains a key player for the Blues amid the speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
The Blues have made good progress during the current league campaign and they can qualify for the Champions League with a win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, Maresca was asked about Fernandez, who has been linked with a surprise move to Madrid following their decision to part ways with Luka Modric.
He said:Â "Enzo is a main player for us. He is one of the leaders. He's been very, very good. He can be even better next season. Nothing to say about speculation. He is focused on us. Yes [he is staying]."
Chelsea are preparing for a busy summer transfer window. A marquee striker and a centre-back are among the priorities for the London club.
The club are reportedly in advanced negotiations to land Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion. He can be purchased for £50 million.
