Inter nears Mourinho move?

26 May 2008 - 13:21

Inter Milan have signed Mourinho on a three-year deal, according to reports from various sources in Portugal. There has yet to be any official word from the Italian club, but it is expected that the Portuguese coach will take Roberto Mancini's place.

  • The Special One had been in talks with Inter for two months, and had warned the club's president Moratti to make the deal quickly. Moratti had to make a tough decision and finally he welcomed the former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho to San Siro.

The reports from Portugal say that the 45-year old will earn £7.2M per season and will be allowed to sign high profile players. The big names linked to the club are Deco from Barcelona and Frank Lampard from Chelsea. Mourinho had coached both the players when he was the boss of FC Porto and Chelsea FC respectively.

It is almost sure that Mancini won't be staying even after three Scudettos, though an official confirmation has not arrived yet.
