Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has heaped praise on striker Liam Delap following the 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC in the Club World Cup group stage.
The Blues started their campaign with a convincing victory over the United States outfit. Pedro Neto opened the scoring before Fernandez put the game beyond LAFC's sight.
Summer signing Delap came on as a second half substitute and he made an instant impact by providing the assist for Fernandez's goal in the 79th minute.
Speaking after the game, Fernandez had fond words to say about Delap, he said: "I see how good Delap is, and I hope he can assist me many more times and I can assist him too."
Delap had the option to join Manchester United, Newcastle United or Everton, but he signed for the Blues from Ipswich Town for around £30 million.
The 22-year-old made a good impact on his debut. If he continues to impress, he could become the regular striker for the Blues ahead of Nicolas Jackson soon.
