Arsenal target Nico Williams has agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of a potential transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are long-term admirers of the Spain international, and they were initially keen on signing him from Athletic Club last summer.
Arsenal recently revived their pursuit of the 22-year-old, but the versatile winger has decided to join the Spanish champions instead.
Williams has agreed terms over a six-year deal with a net salary of €8 million per year. Barcelona are now negotiating with Athletic over the fee.
The news is a huge setback for the Gunners, considering Williams has been one of the prime targets for manager Mikel Arteta.
With Williams set to move elsewhere, Arsenal need to quickly search for an alternative to bolster the wide attacking department.
Real Madrid's Rodrygo and Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon have been linked, but neither are likely to be available this summer.
RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons could be a solution for the Gunners. He could be signed for a reported fee of around €70 million.
