Manchester United have made Emi Martinez their primary transfer target for this summer's transfer window, having grown frustrated of first choice keeper Andre Onana. Onana could be on his way to Borussia Dortmund, where newly appointed manager Erik Ten Hag is believed to be readying a 18 million euro bid for the former Ajax goalkeeper.
Emi Martinez appeared to be tearful during this season's last game for Aston Villa, indicating that a departure is increasingly likely. The Argentinian goalkeeper is said to be desperate for a move to Man Utd, as the Old Trafford outfit weigh up a £35 million bid for the World Cup winning shot stopper.
32-year-old Martinez, who has been with Aston Villa since 2020 and has appeared in 181 Premier League games for the club, is very popular at Villa Park but there remains uncertainty over his long-term future after manager Unai Emery reportedly told his board that a new goalie is a top priority this summer.
Martinez, capped 53 times by his country, has two years remaining on his contract at Villa.
