Chelsea have been in contact with Premier League rivals Aston Villa with regard to a summer transfer move for 19-year-old winger Kadan Young. The impressive England under-19 international spent some of last season playing for Jupiler League club Royal Antwerp, and the Blues' scouting network is sufficiently impressed enough that they will be making a 15 million euro transfer bid for the Erdington-born youngster.
Having been on the books at Aston Villa since 2018, Young is said to be frustrated with a lack of opportunity at Villa Park and ready to leave elsewhere. Kadan has been in and around the first-team squad since December of 2022, and a lack of opportunity appears to be leading to his departure.
Unai Emery has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, whilst Young knows that a move to Chelsea will likely mean exposure to some of the best coaches in Europe as well as a long-term contract. Young could receive a reported eight-year deal should he opts for a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will next week sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and Young could follow Gittens shortly thereafter.
