Germany's warm up starts badly

27 May 2008 - 19:03

Germany's warm up for Euro 2008 started quite poorly as the Deutsch side could only manage a 2-2 draw with minnows Belarus. Miroslav Klose was on the score sheet, whilst Belarus also gifted Germany an own goal.

  • A disappointed Joachim Low said after the game: “It was somewhat disappointing that we allowed the lead to slip from our grasp. You could clearly see that after our hard training the stamina was lacking. In 12 days all the players will be in better form- that I can promise.

“Of course there are decisions to be made and they will be very difficult. We will regroup back in Mallorca and meet together. We have 26 very good players. Those that will be going home certainly don’t lack in quality."

Germany were two up at half time through Klose and an own goal from Bulyga, but Belarus pulled two goals back later on.
