Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a significant injury blow for Bukayo Saka following the 5-0 Premier League win over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners climbed to the top of the standings with a convincing victory over Leeds. Saka was among the goalscorers, but he was subbed off in the second half with an apparent hamstring injury.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said that he has not spoken with the doctor yet, but Saka's decision to come off suggests that the injury is significant.
The England international was a big miss for several months last season and it coincided with the Gunners' struggles to challenge for the league title.
His absence could be another big setback, but the club now have sufficient depth in the squad after the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
The club also have teenage sensations Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman for the role. The latter made his debut at just 15 years of age earlier today.
