Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli was surprisingly left out of the Gunners' starting line up yesterday for the 5-0 win over Leeds United, possibly signalling the club's intent to let the Brazilian leave for a new challenge. Martinelli is valued at around £75 million and the club's new arrivals could end up replacing him.
The arrival of Eberechi Eze yesterday means that Arsenal have many options from the left side of attack, and Noni Madueke is also comfortable playing on either wing. The Gunners also agreed a new improved contract with Leandro Trossard, leaving many supporters questioning whether or not Martinelli was in Mikel Arteta's plans for the 2025-26 season.
Al-Nassr are reportedly weighing up a transfer move for Martinelli, which could be worth more than £75 million, and the Brazilian, who recently signed a contract worth an estimated £200,000-per-week is said to be open to a move to the Middle East.
The Gunners know that they must balance the books after the arrival of several new names, and Martinelli does seem like the only possible sacrifice for an expensive transfer window. Saudi's transfer window closes on the 2nd of September, enabling more time for possible discussions to take place for the former Ituano player.
