Arsenal could compete with Barcelona to sign Nottingham Forest defender Murillo in future transfer windows, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners had a productive summer transfer window and they made eight signings including Piero Hincapie, who arrived on deadline day.
Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera were signed to bolster the central defence, but the club have now been touted to land another centre-back.
Caught Offside claim that manager Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of Murillo's presence of mind and ability to make line breaking passes.
The Gunners could face competition from Barcelona as well as Chelsea, who failed with an attempt to sign the Brazilian at the start of the year.
Forest are not looking into a sale in the near future and are expected to place a price tag of £70 million to ward off interest from suitors.
Murillo has no plans of pursuing a new challenge away from Forest, but could push for one if Forest don't qualify for Europe next season.
